Family Asked to End Recipe Screenshot Campaign

The group chat is now understood to contain eleven photographs of the same tray of flapjacks.

What RecipeJam does about it

Recipes arrive in RecipeJam from wherever they already are — a screenshot, a photograph of a card, a link, a pasted message — and come out the other side as a recipe you can read, search and cook from.

RecipeJam, in use

A recording of this, in the real application

A screenshot, a photograph and a link all becoming ordinary recipes.

Filmed in RecipeJam itself, not an animation. Coming shortly.

Screenshots are fine. Finding them is not.

There is nothing wrong with a photograph of a recipe. The problem is looking for it in eight months, in a chat, on a phone you no longer own.

Imported, then yours to fix

RecipeJam does the tedious part and hands you a draft. What it read is always editable, and the words you typed are kept exactly as typed.

Photographs lose their metadata on the way in

A photograph taken in your kitchen carries the location and the time. RecipeJam strips that on the device before upload, and again on the server for anything that did not come through a browser.
