Terms

The agreement between us

What you are buying, what you keep, and what each of us is responsible for. Written to be read rather than to be impressive — if a clause here is unclear, that is a fault worth telling us about.

Last updated 10 September 2026. How we handle your data is in the privacy notice.

1. Who you are contracting with

RecipeJam Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17452128, whose registered office is Unit 29 Highcroft Industrial Estate, Enterprise Road, Horndean, Waterlooville PO8 0BT, United Kingdom. In these terms “we” and “us” mean that company, and “you” means the person or organisation holding an account.

These terms apply when you create an account or subscribe. If you do not accept them, do not do either — the demo is there so you can see what RecipeJam does without agreeing to anything.

2. Your account

Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has it. Two-factor authentication and passkeys are available on every account and we recommend both. You are responsible for what is done through your account, except where it happens because of something we got wrong.

RecipeJam is not intended for children, and you must be at least 16 to hold an account. An account may hold more than one member — see clause 3 — but a single login is for one person.

3. What a subscription includes

A subscription gives one kitchen — one account — access to everything RecipeJam does: recipes, collections, photographs, eBook compilation, share links, and the API and AI connections. Plans differ by how many people can edit, not by which features you get.

  • Personal — one editor.
  • Business — up to 3 editors.
  • Larger arrangements are by enquiry, and are agreed in writing rather than bought from a page.

We may add to what a subscription includes. If we ever take something away that you were relying on, we will tell you before it happens and you may cancel under clause 5.

4. Price, payment and your right to change your mind

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. The price is shown before you pay and is confirmed in the receipt Stripe sends you. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or hold your card details.

If you are a consumer, you have 14 days to change your mind, starting the day the contract is made. Access begins immediately at your request, which means we may keep a proportionate amount for the days you have had it — but in practice, tell us within 14 days and we will refund the month in full. Email letters@recipejam.com; no form and no reason needed. This right is in addition to cancelling under clause 5, not instead of it.

We may change prices. An existing subscription keeps its price for the month already paid, and we will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a change takes effect so that you can cancel first if you would rather.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your billing page. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Card details, invoices and payment methods are managed in Stripe's own portal, linked from the same page. Beyond the 14-day right in clause 4 we do not refund part-months, because you keep the service for all of it.

If a renewal payment fails we do not lock you out immediately — access continues while the payment is retried, and ends only when the attempts are given up on. We would rather email you than shut the door on your own recipes.

6. Your recipes are yours

You keep every right you have in what you put into RecipeJam. We claim no ownership of it. To run the service we need your permission to store it, back it up, and show it to you and to anybody you share it with — and to whoever else you have added to your account. That permission is limited to operating RecipeJam and ends when you remove the material or close the account.

What we do not do, and will not start doing without asking you first: sell it, show it to anybody you have not shared it with, or use it to train a machine-learning model.

You can take it with you at any time. Collections compile to eBooks and the whole account is readable through the API, which is the point rather than a courtesy.

7. Publishing and sharing

A share link makes a recipe, collection or book readable by anybody holding the link. Those pages ask search engines not to index them, but that is a request rather than a lock — treat sharing as publishing. Turning it off withdraws the link.

You are responsible for having the right to publish what you publish. A recipe method you wrote is yours; a page copied from a book or another website may not be, and a photograph you did not take almost certainly is not.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use RecipeJam to store or publish anything unlawful, anything that infringes somebody else's rights, or anything designed to harm a reader. Do not attempt to break, overload or work around the service's limits, and do not use the API or the AI connections to build something whose purpose is to extract other people's content.

If something here is being seriously misused we may suspend the account while we look into it, and we will tell you why. We would always rather email first.

9. Availability, and what this is not

We work to keep RecipeJam available and we take backups, but at this price we do not offer a guaranteed uptime figure and you should not treat RecipeJam as the only copy of anything you could not bear to lose. Compile the eBook. Use the API. Keep your own copy of the recipe your grandmother wrote down.

Occasionally we will take the service down briefly to change something. Where we can plan it, we will say so in advance.

10. If something goes wrong

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer you keep all of your statutory rights, including that a digital service must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for loss of profit or business opportunity, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

11. Content you publish, and third parties

If somebody brings a claim against us because of something you published through RecipeJam — a copyright complaint about a photograph, for instance — you agree to cover our reasonable costs in dealing with it, provided we tell you promptly and let you have a say in how it is handled.

12. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time from your billing page. Doing so records the request and we carry out the deletion ourselves, which means there is a short window in which you can change your mind — and a button on the same page to do it with. The privacy notice sets out exactly what is removed. Deleted recipes go to your bin first, so an ordinary mistake is recoverable without any of this.

We may end the agreement by giving you 30 days' notice, or immediately if clause 8 is being seriously breached. If we end it for our own reasons rather than yours, we will refund the unused part of what you have paid and give you a reasonable chance to take your recipes with you.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a change matters to you we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then. Continuing to use RecipeJam after that counts as accepting the new version. The date at the top of this page always says when it last changed.

14. Law, and where a dispute goes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you keep the right to bring a claim in your own courts and to rely on your local consumer law.

Talk to us first. Most things that look like a dispute are a misunderstanding, and letters@recipejam.com reaches a person.
